Ironwood, Michigan is within the treaty-ceded territories of Ojibwe tribes.
The Pride UP June festival was first celebrated was 2020, created from a shared intention to honor our humanity while in the midst of a global pandemic, national protest for racial justice, and our community's engagement in listening to one another. The Ironwood Area Pride volunteer group has since been forming around Pride UP's solid bones and community heart.

Ironwood Area Pride (IAP) is a loosely organized group of individuals and organizations in the Ironwood, Michigan area. Our goal is to help our community become more welcoming and nourishing for queer (LGBT+) people and families. We do this by building positive relationships, educating ourselves and others on the needs of the queer community, and hosting a weekend-long pride festival in June to celebrate and connect.
